Alibag. Cool climate and old temple of Lord Shiva.
The temple is situated on a mounten and the nearby village
is ' Mapgaon ' which is almost 12 kms. from Alibag.We
have to climb 700+ steps to reach the temple. |

Fort : Colaba fort, major water fort in Konkan...
Shivaji Maharaj built this fort in 1680...Nine hundread
feet long and three hundread fifty feet wide....Having
two 'dwars' (gates).. one from the shore , another from
the sea side .
The 'Mahadarwaja' to the east is a specail thing... decorated
with idols of tigers, elephant, peacock etc. The temple
of Ganesh, godess with eighteen hands ,Brahma, Vishnu
and Shiva together makes "Ganesh Panchayatam"
Better to visit here only during the low tide. Here is
